Soulbound can use reliquaries as implements to direct their powers. A soulbound wielding a magical reliquary can add its enhancement bonus to attack and damage rolls of soulbound powers as well as soulbound paragon paths, that have the implement keyword.


Soulbound Class Features
All soulbound share these class features.

Spiritual Ally
Not long after you first discovered the basic rudiments of your powers, you made contact with a creature native to the well of souls. This being might be a nature spirit, the shade of a human that died in times long past, a forgotten small god, or something even more abstract.

Whatever it’s nature, your spiritual ally is an intangible, insubstantial entity that resides in the Spirit World, but can observe and be observed on the material plane as long as it remains within five squares of you.

Your spiritual ally is essentially a separate character that cannot make attacks or interact with the physical world. Choose two of the following skills; Arcana, Diplomacy, Heal, History, Insight, Nature, Religion, or Streetwise; your spirit companion is trained in those skills and can make skill checks as if its level were equal to your own.

Choose one of the following Spiritual Callings detailed below. Your choice determines how you interact with your spirit companion; manifesting them bodily into the world or allowing them to possess your body and meld their will with your own these come in the form of the manifest spiritual ally and spiritual merge class features. Your choice also determines one of your at-will powers and grants you an Ensouled Power. Your choice also provides bonuses to certain soulbound powers as detailed in those powers.

Spirit Manifester
You channel your power to create a physical form for your spiritual ally, allowing them to work their powers on the material plane.
Manifest Spiritual Ally: You gain the manifest spiritual ally class feature.
Ensouled Power: Whenever you hit with an implement power, you may shift 1 square as a free action.
At-Will Attack power: You gain the otherword chill at-will attack power. Choose your second at-will power as normal.

Spirit Vessel
You open your body’s defenses and allow your spiritual ally to infuse you with their knowledge, power and expertise, becoming a warrior the likes of which the world hasn’t seen in ages.
Manifest Spiritual Ally: You gain the spiritual merge class feature.
Ensouled Power: When you are not wearing heavy armor, you add your Wisdom modifier to AC instead of your Intelligence or Dexterity modifier.
At-Will Attack power: You gain the discarnate strike at-will attack power. Choose your second at-will power as normal.

Anima Drain
Once per round, as a minor action, you may designate one enemy within 5 squares of you as the target of your Anima Drain. The first time the target of your Anima Drain takes damage in that round, the target takes an additional 1d6 necrotic damage per tier. If the target is undead, it takes radiant damage instead. You can designate one target of your Anima Drain at a time.

Manifest Spiritual Ally
Soulbound Class Feature
You use your own soul as a focal point, drawing your spiritual ally out of the Spirit World to manifest in the material plane.

Minor Action - Close burst 10
Effect:
You conjure your spiritual ally into an unoccupied square in the burst. The spirit lasts until you fall unconscious or until you dismiss it as a minor action. The spirit occupies 1 square. Enemies cannot move through its space, but allies can. When you take a move action, you can also move the spirit a number of squares equal to your speed.

The spirit can be targeted by melee or ranged attacks, although it lacks hit points. If a single melee or ranged attack deals damage to the spirit equal to your Charisma modifier + one-half your level or higher, the spirit disappears, reverting back to it’s insubstantial form, and you take damage equal to the damage dealt to the spirit. Otherwise, the spirit is unaffected by the attack.

While your spiritual ally is manifested, soulbound implement powers use it as the point of origin when determining range.

Spiritual Merge

You call your spiritual ally into your own body, making their combat prowess your own.

Minor Action - Personal
Effect:
Your spiritual ally disappears and merges its soul with yours. You gain a +1 bonus to attack rolls and damage rolls with powers with the Weapon keyword and can shift 2 squares as a move action instead of 1 while this power is active. If you take damage equal to 10 + one-half your level, this power ends. Otherwise, this power remains in effect until you fall unconscious, take a short rest, or dismiss it as a free action.

Discarnate Strike

You channel your force of will into your strike, tearing at the anima of your foe.

1d8 + Charisma modifier and the target is slowed until the start of your next turn.

Anima Consumption
Soulbound Attack 1
You spiritual ally siphons the target’s animating energy and channels it into you.
Encounter • Discarnate, Implement, Healing, Necrotic or Radiant
Standard Action - Ranged 5
Target:
One creature that is currently the target of your Anima Drain.
Attack:
Charisma +2 vs. Fortitude
Hit:
2d6 + Charisma modifier radiant or necrotic damage and you regain hit points equal to the damage dealt.
Effect:
The next time the target takes damage from your Anima Drain, it takes an additional 1d6 damage.
Phantom Arrow
Soulbound Attack 1
You fire a single arrow, which is tailed by a ghostly arrow. Combined, they sap both body and soul.

Solarius Raide

Swinging your blade, you carve out a conduit directly connected to the Well of Souls. The blast of spiritual energy tears into your foes on both this plane of reality and the next.

You attack, then sink into the space between this world an the next, reappearing unexpectedly for a second attack.

Your spiritual ally surrounds the target with ghostly thorns that tear into his metaphysical form.

You take a foe’s anima into yourself, reinvigorating your own body.

Trigger: A target of your Anima Drain within range takes damage from it.
Effect:
Spend a healing surge and gain additional hitpoints equal to the damage dealt by your Anima Drain.
Otherworldly Splendor
Soulbound Utility 2
Your spiritual ally clothes you in regalia formed form light from the Well of Souls. Those who behold you weep at your beauty.

Free Action - Personal
Effect:
Reroll a Diplomacy or Streetwise check you just rolled. You must use this power after the roll was made, but before the DM reveals the result of the roll.
Manifest From Spirit World, Form 1
Soulbound Utility 2
With the aid of your spirit companion, you draw a physical object out of the Spirit World and onto the material plane.
At-will • Discarnate, Conjuration
Move Action - Personal
Effect:
You conjure a mundane object weighing no more than five pounds into your hand, or onto the ground at your feet. This object has resist all 20, but is functionally identical to any other mundane object of the same type. Any creature handling the item is immediately aware of it’s otherworldly nature. The object remains for one hour or until you dismiss it as a free action. You cannot have more than one such object at a time.
Anima Shield
Soulbound Utility 2
You transform stolen anima into solid spiritual energy, protecting you form all forms of attack.

Trigger: A creature takes damage from your Anima Drain.
Effect:
Gain a +2 bonus to all defenses until the end of your next turn.

Augment Celerity

Infused with energies provided with your spirit companion, you unleash a flurry of ferocious blows.

Your spirit companion brings the weight of the world beyond down upon the enemy’s shoulders, shocking them with their own insignificance.

Sigil of Discarnate Might
Soulbound Attack 3
A rune of strength is drawn in the air above in brilliant light. Spiritual powers used beneath it are augmented.

Standard Action - Close burst 2

Hit:
2d6 damage
Effect:
The burst creates a zone in its area. Whenever a creature takes damage from an effect with the discarnate keyword, or from Anima Drain, it takes additional damage equal to your charisma modifier. The zone lasts until the end of your next turn.
Sustain Minor: The zone persists.
