Prestige Classes --  Bradavo Gunslinger

Bravado Gunslinger
”Never seen one of those before, have you?! This is a Caughton repeater pistol; it fire six shots before you can blink and has the stopping power of a greatsword in the gut – so I figure you want to back off before I decide to use it, no?” ~ Jote of the Blackmire, gun fighter.

Firearms are largely a new technology on Ere. Many models are still primitive and unreliable and as such even the well made devices are rare. A few people have recognized the potential of those guns that are well made and have taken to training themselves to make the most of them.

The best of these individuals fight with such flare and zen-like confidence that they have in themselves and their weapons that they have earned the collective moniker of Bravado Gunslingers. With equal amounts of wit and guile, they call up the most inner reserves of their skill to perform inhuman feats with their firearms.

Gunslingers take great pleasure in showing off their skills. Defeating their foes isn’t enough, they feel the need to taunt and humiliate their foes as they do so. Serious fights aren’t their style and they will go to great lengths to inject their own style even into fights for their life.

There are no organizations for gunslingers, but they do enjoy having people to appreciate their style and who can back them up in a pinch. A gunslinger works well with rogues, fighters, bards and combatants but have little appreciation for magic.

Becoming a Bravado Gunslinger
Rogues, fighters and combatants are the most likely to see the value in using firearms. Bards, rangers and inborns sometimes take a greater appreciation of using their trusty sidearm as their primary weapon, being the most likely to possess the trademark bravado of a gunslinger. Primary spellcasters and barbarians are unlikely to become gunslingers as they see little value in using a gun.

Class Features
All of the following are Class Features of the Class Name prestige class.

Weapon and Armor Proficiencies: Class Names gain no additional weapon or armor proficiencies. A Bravado Gunslinger wearing armor heavier than light or wielding any shield other than a buckler loses his Gun Zen and One with the Gun abilities.

Point Blank Fighting (Ex): Bravado Gunslingers are skilled at fighting with their favorite weapons even at melee range. They don’t provoke attacks of opportunity when firing firearms they have weapon focus in.

Shot on the Run (Ex): At second level the bravado gunslinger gains shot on the run as a bonus feat even if he does not meet all the prerequisites for the feat.

Sneak Attack (Ex): The bravado gunslinger knows exactly where to aim to inflict maximum damage. This is exactly like the rogue ability of the same name. The extra damage dealt increases by +1d6 every third level (2nd, 5th, and 8th). If a bravado gunslinger gets a sneak attack bonus from another source the bonuses on damage stack.

Gun Zen (Su): At third level, the bravado gunslinger develops near superhuman agility when wielding their weapon of choice. Once per day, while wielding a firearm he has weapon focus with, the bravado gunslinger can act as if under the effects of a haste spell. This effect lasts a number of rounds equal to the gunslinger’s Cha modifier.

Perfect Shot (Ex): With exceptional skill and patience, a gunslinger can force an opening where there is none. Once per day starting at 4th level and an additional time per day every third level thereafter, the bravado gunslinger can take a full round action to make a single attack. If the attack hits, treat it as if it were a successful sneak attack.

One with the Gun (Ex): At 10th level, the gunslinger reaches the pinnacle of his art. He adds his Cha modifier to attack and damage rolls made with firearms he has weapon focus with. In addition, while using his Gun Zen ability, he adds his Cha modifier as an insight bonus to AC. He loses this bonus any time he would lose his Dex modifier to AC.
