Food
Allbuk’s
Filling Gruel
Like many foodstuffs sold by the dwarven alchemist, Allbuk,
filling gruel is dehydrated, sold as packets of grey powder.
When added to boiling water, the filling gruel expands to
make a pint of thick porridge.
This
porridge is specially formulated to provide a day’s
worth of nourishment in one sitting. Unfortunately, it has
the texture of wet plaster and a taste to match. Even trail
rations are preferable in taste and appearance.
Allbuk’s
Hearty Meal
Another dehydrated culinary work of Allbuk, the hearty meal
is a great leap forward in presentation, though not quite
as filling. When boiling water is stirred into the paper and
canvas tray, the meal becomes a delicious and edible meal
of beef and mashed potatoes.
Amphorbitte
Amphorbitte is cuisine developed by necromancers as an 'appetizer
for undeath'. It has since become popular both with adventurous
diners as well as sapient undead.
Amphorbitte
is actually (formerly) live creatures called 'ampho', clear,
round, gelatinous creatures, not unlike huge amoeba. They
are killed with inflict minor wounds and reanimated with a
second burst of negative energy, turning their membranes a
slick black.
The flavor
of amphorbitte is best described as something like the smell
of mesquite smoke combined with a sharp, acidic taste.
Consuming
a serving of amphorbitte heals undead 1 point
of damage. |

Qual-Pash
Originally created by the jungle dwelling Sylvan Nagas, qual-pash
is a layered dessert, consisting of a base of primitive, dark
chocolate topped with a soft sweet bread, covered in a thin
later of custard, topped with meringue, then drizzled with
clotted cream.
Since
society first made contact with the naga society, qual-pash
has become a major hit in the larger cities. The naga are
deeply amused with this, as in their language, 'qual-pash'
translates into 'lover's bread' and is considered a mild aphrodisiac.
The idea of humans casually dining on such a thing appeals
to naga humor.
Trull
Egg Bake
Trulls are the gargantuan, primitive ancestors of dragon turtles
that live on river deltas and flood plains. Despite their
size, they are slow witted and docile. People near trull herds
often harvest the eggs of these gentle giants and bake them
with local herbs from the delta.
Trull
egg bake is served in the shell with the tip cut off and the
semi-solid egg ladled into bowls. A single egg serves six
people.
Surgot
A Surgot is a sandwich popularized in the west. It is composed

for him at state functions.
Brumbee
A loaf of diced lamb, shredded fish, potatoes and crushed
wheat crackers, served in slices and topped with thick lamb
gravy. Brumbee is common dish for many coastal regions. Inlanders
generally lack a taste for it, especially the fish and sometimes
make brumbee with lamb and beef instead.
Meat
Roll
A northern favorite, meat rolls consist of ground beef mixed
with finely chopped carrots, peppers and onions browned and
injected into palm sized lumps of dough which are then cooked
until crisp. Meat rolls are sold by street vendors in most
major cities.
Potato
Bowl
A frequent product from street vendors, potato bowls are bowls

doppelgangers and the like.

Poisoner’s
Choice
Members of the sect called Bloodmyst Poisoners are immune
to the effects of poisons. To this end, they have devised
an alternate method of intoxication that gets around this.

benign plague.

a glass of this green-brown substance deals 1d2
temporary Wis damage over the next 3 hours. A

Rizeni
Brandy
Mashed from the pods of the whey weed plant, Rizeni brandy
is a milky white liquid, sometimes called ‘milk of the
land’. Rizeni brandy is no more alcoholic than wine,
but possessing and regularly drinking the vaguely sweet beverage
is a sign of the upper class outside Rizen.
Sweetwater
Spirits
Called ‘candied water’ by many serious drinkers,
sweetwater spirits are a cheaply made derivative of the sap
of the nyara plant, favored by druids and other naturalists.
While it does tend to have a mild, relaxing effect, it has
no addictive properties and needs to be consumed in truly
copious amounts (at least a gallon over the space of an hour)
to intoxicate.
